Maiara Walsh is an acclaimed actress and singer best known for her role as Ana Solis on ABC’s Desperate Housewives. She’s also featured as Simone Sinclair in Switched at Birth and Meena Paroom on Disney Channel’s Cory in the House.
An imaginative visionary, she is constantly creating – whether that be through her soulful and edgy music or writing television scripts and feature films. Additionally, she is a passionate supporter of human rights and a philanthropist.
Desperate Housewives
Maiara Walsh has an infectious smile and kind heart that are enough to make anyone fall in love. She’s best known for her role as troubled teen Ana Solis on ABC’s Desperate Housewives, but she also has several high-profile roles such as Meena Paroom in the Disney Channel sitcom Cory in the House and Simone Sinclair in Switched at Birth.
Her latest movie is Grace, an atmospheric indie film about a woman forced to leave her family for an abusive marriage. Walsh says her character was inspired by people she’s encountered who have sexually exploited her; therefore, there are no real-life people she draws inspiration from in creating it.
She’s portrayed a variety of complex characters, from Gabrielle’s over-sexed niece Ana to Bree’s sexually abusive stepfather Carlos (Ricardo Chavira) and Lynette’s deaf mother Alisa Stevens (Marlee Matlin). Additionally, she played Vicky Patterson in Lifetime’s Identity Theft of a Cheerleader; however, Desperate Housewives will always remain her most memorable role.
Cory in the House
Victor Baxter, Cory Baxter’s dad, accepts a position as head chef of the White House and moves to Washington DC with his family to live in staff quarters. Here he attends an exclusive private school alongside children of senators, dignitaries and Supreme Court justices.
In this spinoff of That’s So Raven, Kyle Massey returns as Cory Baxter – an irrepressible hustler with big entrepreneurial dreams. He meets Meena Paroom (Maiara Walsh), daughter of an ambassador from a fictional country, and Newton “Newt” Livingston III (Jason Dolley), heir to a political dynasty.
Maiara Walsh is a Disney Channel actress best known for her roles on the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Desperate Housewives, Notorious, and Switched at Birth. In the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D episode “Seeds,” Maiara plays Callie Hannigan as Agent Shiela Warden.
The Vampire Diaries
The Vampire Diaries was one of the early shows to tap into the growing teen vampire craze that began taking off in 2009. With Twilight and True Blood on its way, The CW made it clear they were serious about this genre.
The plotline was straightforward: a girl falls in love with a vampire boy. After this happens, supernatural creatures take over and humanity is completely destroyed.
Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder brought this unique love triangle to life in an engagingly captivating incarnation. Plec and the writers did an excellent job of allowing Dobrev, Wesley and Somerhalder to have dynamic chemistry with one another that varied dramatically.
In season 6, Elena Gilbert is put into a magical sleeping coma by Kai to punish Bonnie. This curse ensures that as long as Bonnie lives, Elena will never wake up. Fans were horrified and confused by this revelation.
Zombieland
In the 2009 film Zombieland, four survivors of a zombie apocalypse journey west in search of safety. They meet Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin), who are on their way to an amusement park called Pacific Playland that they believe to be free from zombies.
They ambush Columbus and Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg), taking them hostage. Initially planning to drive away and leave them stranded again, the duo decides instead to stay with them and fight off the zombies together.
The movie boasts plenty of humorous, comical and fun scenes that will keep viewers engaged throughout. Written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (G.I. Joe: Retaliation), this comedy was adapted from a television pilot created by these same writers.
