Emilie de Ravin has a distinguished career in the entertainment industry, best known for her roles as Tess Harding on Roswell and Claire Littleton on Lost.
She stars as Belle on Once Upon a Time. She and her fiance Eric Bilitch have two children: Vera, named after Vera herself, and Theodore, their son.
Roswell
Roswell is a small town in New Mexico with an illustrious past. It was the site of an infamous UFO incident in 1947, leading to its association with flying saucers and aliens ever since.
Liz Parker (Emilie de ravin) is miraculously saved in the opening episode by Max Evans, a human-alien hybrid. This sparks an exciting romance between them and leads to an epiphany for both characters.
The CW’s reboot of the show features an all-new cast, but some familiar faces remain from the original series. Shiri Appleby (who directed several episodes) and Jason Behr (Max) can be seen among them.
Roswell, though on a teeny-bopper network, tackles major social issues like racial profiling and ICE. The pilot opens with an afro-Latina scientist who is stopped at the border who openly criticizes President Trump’s “thinly veiled racism.” It’s an engaging look into topics rarely tackled on TV; de ravin makes it work.
Lost
At 15 years old, Emilie de ravin left her ballet school behind and began taking acting lessons. Soon enough, she was appearing as a star on television shows.
Her first role was in the TV series BeastMaster, shot largely in Australia. Later, de ravin scored her major breakthrough role on sci-fi series Roswell as Tess Harding.
After her role in Roswell, de ravin went on to star in several other movies such as Brick and The Hills Have Eyes. Additionally, she made brief appearances in Public Enemies and Remember Me.
At 40, de ravin is still appearing on popular shows but she’s been away from the US for some time. We caught up with her at Supanova Perth 2022 and learned how she manages her busy schedule.
Once Upon a Time
Emilie de Ravin is best known as Claire Littleton on Lost. The Australian actress has also starred as Tess Harding on Roswell and Belle in Once Upon a Time.
Filming can be a grueling task, but she has found ways to stay motivated and content while away from her family. We got to speak with her about her time on the iconic television series as well as more at Perthnova 2022!
In an adaptation of the beloved Beauty and the Beast tale, Once Upon a Time follows Belle (played by Emilie de Ravin) as she escapes Storybrooke captivity to rejoin her former love, Rumpelstiltskin. However, as we’ll discover on Sunday when Rumplestiltskin has his own agenda for Belle that may prove more challenging than what we’ve seen in Disney movies before.
It marks a new chapter in the show’s history, but if this is our last glimpse of Belle, she will leave behind an imprint as one of the strongest women in existence.
Remember Me
Remember Me, the first major film to star Twilight star Robert Pattinson, was always going to be a success. Fans eagerly anticipated seeing their beloved characters again and were pleased when the actors and crew worked together flawlessly throughout each scene. Plus, New Mexico proved an ideal setting for shooting such an upscale comedy about New York City affluent slackers!
Although the movie had some difficulties along the way, it ultimately proved a hit at the box office. Notable accolades included multiple Oscar nominations and awards from Hollywood’s governing bodies – including Best Picture and Director. Not to mention it made many lists of top films of 2017, including ours! Whether you’re an admirer of the show or not, Remember Me is an engaging tale about two students from different socioeconomic backgrounds who find themselves caught up in an unexpected love triangle.
